At 1445 meters high, the Buchensteinwand is a small mountain in the large company of the nearby Steinberge and the foothills of the Kitzbühel Alps. The Buchensteinwand is surrounded by the valley villages of Hochfilzen, Fieberbrunn, St. Jakob in Haus and St. Ulrich am Pillersee. The Buchensteinwand is named after the many beech trees that thrive on its slopes and the rugged rock face on the south side of the mountain.

10 stations have been set up along the themed trail up the Buchensteinwand. These are freely accessible and can be used free of charge. The stations do not build on each other, there is no compulsory order - each station can be visited individually. The designated starting point for the themed trail is located directly at the valley station of the cable car.

The construction of the themed trail has created an additional, great offer for young and old, which enriches the village with an additional attraction with fun and games.
